About This Experience

Before first light, you'll leave camp for the launch site, arriving as the ground crew inflates the balloon against a still-dark sky. There's a particular quiet to this hour in the Serengeti — the engines are off, the vehicles are parked, and the only sound is the occasional roar of the burner as the envelope fills.
Once airborne, the balloon rises to treetop height, then higher, and the plains open up beneath you in a way no game drive can replicate. Wildebeest columns stretch for kilometres. Elephant families move as dark shapes through golden grass. If the Great Migration is in the area, the sheer scale of it — hundreds of thousands of animals moving as one — is genuinely difficult to process from the ground.
Your pilot has full control of altitude, using different wind layers to steer the flight path and drop low over game where conditions allow. The ride lasts around an hour and covers several kilometres, drifting wherever the morning air takes you.
Landing is followed by a proper celebration: a bush breakfast with champagne, hot coffee, and a full spread, served on white linen in the open grass — often with your ground crew waiting to greet you and a signed flight certificate to take home.
